Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My baby used to vomit on nan and got a slight rash on her face so at 8 weeks old we put her on isomil and she's been fine. Now she's 8 months old and about 2 weeks ago I put her onto isomil 2 and also changed her teats (tommee tippee from 2 to 3) I also have a number 2 nuby bottle I've introduced.we've discovered she has a penicillin allergy however since the new isomil 2 she vomits nearly every feed and has such bad diarrheat thought it was an egg allergy as I gave her a tiny bit the day before she got sick. So I gave her allergex and mucospect as her vomit was very slimy., I know doctors say teething has no symptoms but since I put the teething bracelet on she hasn't vommited. I took my husband to hospital coz she started vommiting and diarrhea and it was late at night, they did bloods and put him on a drip. His white blood count was very high. The dr didn't even check my lo, he assumed she had the same and gave probiotics and something for nausea. She has still been vommiting and her diarrhea is still bad. Could it be the isomil 2 is too rich? Also she seems to get sick when she burps and I burp her during feeds. My mom in law is a nurse and suggested trying lactogen as my niece is on it. What is lactogen vs isomil and could it help? I've put her back onto 2 teats in case she getting too much air too quickly. What do you suggest?
hi i understand your concerns but at this point of time rather than vomiting and diarrhoea i think you should be more concerned about her weight gain. Further more i suggest that you talk to your pediatrician if she is having any cows milk protein allergy also. Cow's milk protein allergy also presents with similar features. Regards - Dr. Sumanth
