What Causes Red And Brown Spotting After Months Of Amenorrhea?

okay so I haven t had a real period since march 6, 2015. So on june 11,2015 i started spotting real lightly old brown blood, i thought to myself cool, this must be my period. Well I m pretty sure I m wrong. I m still bleeding. Its been going back and forth from brown to red, then next day it will be brown again. Well my question is...why is this happening? Its not a heavy flow either its very light. Is this normal?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Blood loss per vaginam could be due to hormonal imbalance. I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment, relevant investigations like pelvic ultrasound, blood hormonal levels and endometrial curettings. These investigations will help to plan management.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
