What Causes Red And Dry Skin On Lips?

Hello, I have these dry spots by my mouth. I thought they were an allergic reaction to my makeup but I stopped using it. I stopped using my face wash, exfoliator and other products I put on my face but its still there. They re kind of like chapped lips. They re bright red dry and burn. I even tried putting chapstick on them and it didn t work.

it can be due to:

Perioral dermatitis
The appearance of small, red bumps or papules around the mouth is referred to as Perioral Dermatitis.

Climatic conditions

Harsh weather conditions like winter and dry low humid climates reduces the secretion of oil from the oil glands resulting in dry skin

Angular cheilitis

your skin dries and ends up cracking at the corners of your mouth.

Allergic reactions

Seborrheic dermatitis

This is common in people with oily skin.


Treatment includes:

Drink plenty of water
Moisturize the lips
Use cocoa butter
Apply yogurt therapy

nonprescription corticosteroid cream will relieve itchy dry skin around your mouth. In the case of a dry red skin, use an over the counter oral antihistamine.
