What Causes Red And Painful Rash On Cheek?

Hi I have a bumpy rash on my left cheek only. It is really red and doesn t feel itchy but it hurts a bit when I press it. This happened few times in the last few months. Before, I was sure it was the egg allergy, but this time, I didn t eat any eggs. I am seeing an allergist in 2 weeks to be sure but I wanted to know what you guys might think about this.

Bumpy painful rash on the cheeks are commonly due to allergy, food allergy or side effects of medicines being taken. Dermatitis (atopic or seborrheic) have similar symptoms. You are suggested to take non sedating antihistamines for relief. Keep your scalp clean, dandruff is one of the main factors that causes rashes, pimple or acne.

You can apply Clotrimazole creams or Miconazole cream for relieve. However, you are suggested to get clinically examined by a dermatologist. You may need oral antibiotics if its rosacea or acne. DO not scratch or pop. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight. Avoid using cosmetics and make up for a couple of days.
