What Causes Red And Purple Blisters On Knuckle?

I currently have two knuckles on my left hand, ( the middle and ring 1st knuckle) that have red and purple rings around the. There are also blisters on the middle knuckle only. I've not been in any chemicals, nor changed my diet or eaten anything I don't normally eat. Any ideas???
