Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Red And Raised Blotches Inside The Lower Lip?
Inside of lower lip/mouth area little raised red blotches........have had for 4-5 years...........come and they go in a day or two and then they're back. Feels metalic kind of..........my tongue is always there as it feels somewhat swollen.........have dental checkups 3 x a year.......
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain it seems that the red blotches are due to allergic reaction to some medicine or food or something else and they appear when you are exposed to the allergen.. The swollen tongue also occurs commonly due to allergic reaction..
Nothing to worry consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and in case if allergic reaction is suspected then a blood test can be done for confirmation and once the allergen is identified preventing exposure is the best way to prevent allergic reaction..
But in case if you are accidentally exposed to allergen then you can take anti allergic medication like Cetrizine or Fexofenadine[allegra]
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
