Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Red And Swollen Eye While Suffering From Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia?
My 17 mo old son has Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia. His right eye and eywbrow is red, and a little swollen, and is a little blotchy on that side of his head. He has never had benadryl before. There is no mark of a bite from a bug. He is rubbing it a little, but is acting pretty normal.
Is there any eye discharge or sticky lids? Any itching? This is unlikely related to adrenal hyperplasia. Possibilities are either conjunctivitis or reaction to a small foreign body that went unnoticed. As there is surrounding edema also, this is significant and it will be fine if you get him examined to look for the cause, as treatment differ with cause
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
