What Causes Red Blistery Rash On The Shaft Of Penis Oozing Clear Fluid?

Hi. I have had a red blistery rash on the shaft and scrotum for weeks now. It seems to go away and then come back. Also, the skin around the rash is oozing a clear fluid. It doesn t really smell like anything, just oily and it will go away and return with the rash. Please help! I can t seem to figure out what it is or how to treat it!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The red blister rash with oozing of clear fluid may be part of vesicle formation following some sort of viral infection of genitalia most likely. Following measures will help you:
- Keep penis clean with antiseptic liquid or soap
- Local application of Hydrocortisone cream or lotion
- Avoidance of sexual intercourse if active
- Avoid masturbation as well
- Control of blood sugar
- Prescription of antibiotics with or without an anti-inflammatory medicine
- Certain cases do require prophylactic anti fungal such as Fluconazole or Itraconazole

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
