What Causes Red Blotches Around The Pubic Area?

I have these patches of red blotches around my pubes. They don t itch, they don t have texture like dryness or roughness, it just feels like my normal skin. I m only worried about it, because It looks very awkward. The blotches are the size of quarters and all grouped together surrounding pretty much my whole pubic area and some of my inner thigh. Also the inner thigh ones also have a tint of yellow towards the middle. I don t shave my pubes I trim. Also it started as one red dot and slowly spread to what it is now, time spans of about 5 months. I have no serious worries but just tired of the look, and soon to go get it checked. I was just wanting to know if it was anything simpler. I m pretty sure it s not hives. Thanks

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have red blotches around the pubic area. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like acute meningitis , chickenpox , contact dermatitis , discoid eczema or erythema nodosum. The symptoms can also occur due to condition like STD .I would suggest you to keep the site dry and clean , apply cold compresses to reduce inflammation and redness , take over the counter anti histamine like bendry twice a day and do not apply any cosmetic product . In consult dermatologist if the condition doesn't get better . Doctor may order certain test like allergy test or blood test . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with anti inflammatory and corticosteroid ointment . Wear loose cloths and do not scratch or touch again and again .
