What Causes Red Blotches On Cheeks After Washing The Face?
Hello, I used to wash my face with this grapefruit nutrigena scrub and then I just kind of stopped. I recently started using it and I have been for about 3 days however today after using it,I got red blotches on my cheeks near my jawline. I don t think it could be the wash as ive used it before and been fine. Could it be when im dabbing my face afterwards? Or am I washing my face too much that its drying it out? (I wash it every morning and evening, followed by toning) I know its nothing serious but im curious as to what the cause could be. Thankyou in advance :)
It looks like you have been over exfoliating your skin. Over exfoliation causes blotches, irritations, break outs, pimples, inflammation and burning of the skin. You are suggested to stop use of chemical cosmetics and avoid make up for a couple of days.
Do not keep touching your face and do not scratch. Stop the use of all foaming cleansers and physical or chemical exfoliators for a couple of days. You can use mild cleansers and apply aloe gel or calamine lotion.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
