What Causes Red Blotches On The Neck And Arms?

My daughter just broke out in painful, red blotches all over her neck and arms. I have asked her if she came into contact with any chemicals or if anything bit her (spider, bee, etc.) She doesn t think so. She works as a waitress for my husband and I have asked him if they changed any cleaning fluids, he said they did use something different to clean the air vents this morning. Can breathing in/around certain cleaning fluids cause physical symptoms?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to an allergic reaction due to the change of detergents. I recommend using antihistamines daily such as Levocetirizine daily. I also recommend using Calamine lotion for local application.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
