Hi. Small bump on middle finger-prob been there for week or so- woke up yesterday & it was swollen & painful, small pin-head sized black dot in center & what looked like a small blister forming beside the black dot. Drained/popped on its own that morning- now still have large red bump??thanks for any help!
Hello and welcome to HCM, A red bump with black colored centre suggests a sebaceous cyst. A sebaceous cyst is caused by blockage of hair follicle. The hair follicle is seen as black colored dot in the centre. However, clinical assessment is required for coming to diagnosis. Surgical excision is the treatment of choice. A histopathological examination is required to confirm the diagnosis.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
