Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I was bringing a lipstick today and I'm never had any problems with it I've only worn it three other times and today I took it off in the shower with Ivory soap it's non scented and my lip started to burn and tingle and now there are little red bumps lining the the inner lip and outer lip and my lips if it's swollen is this an allergic reaction or a sign of herpes
As per your complain sudden burning of lips along with red bumps after using a new lipstick and as you removed it using sopa it can be due to interaction between the chemicals present in the lipstick and soap and causing allergic reaction..
Secondly it can be due to allergy to the lipstick also but does not seems to be due to herpes, however a confirmatory test has to be done for excluding the causes..
I would suggest you to take anti allergics like Levvocetrizine and also do cool compresses over the lips.. Apply Calamine lotion to soothe the skin.. Apply Petroleum jelly to coat and lubricate the lips.. In case if there is no improvement consult an Allergist and get evaluated..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
