My 7 month old has a rash that starts on his lower back and goes up to the middle of his back. Started out as red bumps and got bigger. 2 spots look circular with red on the outside and it gets lighter on the inside. Is it ringworm? Lyme disease? Or heat rash? They all look similar

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Let me tell you that the symptoms described by you suggest that you have heat rash. You can better send me a photo of the rash on reports in order to better evaluate it. I suggest a cool bath can provide a child or baby with some relief from this rash. I also suggest avoiding using oil-based skin products and using loose-fitting Cotton clothes.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Arup Majumdar, General & Family Physician
