Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a C-section 2+ years ago. I never had trouble with my scar. Today I woke up and I had pain. When I looked there was a red bump. Throughout the day the bump developed a head and it popped this evening. It was puss filled with blood mixture. Should I be concerned and how should I card for it because it's under a extra skin from my pregnancy?
Hello, It can be skin infection ,due to unhyiegenic measures.Get checked by your doctor first, you may need proper antibiotic course. Also you may apply antiseptic gel on it to prevent further from detoriating.Pregnancy only cause stretching of the skin it does not develop extra skin.It can be minor thing to worry about if treated according to doctor;s advice. Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Ivo Ditah's Response
Hi,
I am so sorry to hear about this bump that you have mentioned. I understand the heighten fear here is because of the scar. However, treat it just like another bump. Cleanse regularly with an antiseptic such as iodine and allow it airy. Expel content and avoid touching quite often. If it fails to heal within a week, then seek further medical attention.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Thanks for using our services.
