Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have red bumps on my arms and legs. They were diagnosed as Granuloma Annular. I have had them for over a year and a half. I was prescribed Betamethasone Dipropionate. I have used up 3 tubes and it did not help. I moved into a house that had bed bugs, which I did not know until a few weeks later, in June. They were isolated to one room and appear to be gone but I will not sleep in that room. Diotomacous Earth and spray were used to get rid of them. However, I was told that the room needs to be treated every two weeks for a year. Could I be allergic to the dust from the Diotomacous Earth? Also I worked with a client who had hepatitis C. One day she coughed and mucus went in my eye. Could I have been infected? I am trying to get this cleared up so I can get a job and need help. It is hard enough being a senior let alone finding work.
Your symptoms seem to be related to granuloma anulare. I recommend using steroid lotion such as Calamine lotion for local application.
If the symptoms continue I recommend using steroid injection prescribed by your doctor. I also suggest you consult a dermatologist for other methods of treatment such as liquid nitrogen therapy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
