What Causes Red Circles On Knee Area?

I have had a red circle on my upper inner knee area for three days and it s not going away. At first I thought I had been sitting in a way to put a pressure mark. But three days later it us still there. I don t feel pain. It s a red circle. Almost a perfect circle solid in color. My thinking is that this is sign of a serious underlying problem. Can you please give me any information you may have. I am a 44 yr old white female with a history of graves disease. If that helps. Thank you. SB

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
You need to provide additional details regarding your rash. Is it warm to touch? Does it blench when applying pressure? What is the approx size of your rash? Is it uniformly red or patchy? Do you have a fever? Do you have any additional symptoms?

The differential is broad without the answer to these questions, including contact dermatitis, bruise, insect bite, erythema migrans, erythema multiforme, tinea infection, and cellulitis erysipelas, etc.

I would recommend getting it checked if the rash is spreading or not improving.
I find this answer helpful
