What Causes Red, Cracked And Flaky Skin On The Back Of The Hands?

I have a skin rash on the back of my hands, the skin is red and cracked, the skin is flaking off. This is on both hands, there is minor bleeding in small areas, it does itch a lot. BenZoid Peroxide does reduce the swelling but does not reduce the infection. I believe this was caused by bacteria I encountered while cleaning the bathtub.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

I would recommend a doctors visit at the earliest as the region sounds quite moderately serious requiring medical attention.

A blood panel is also recommended to confirm or rule out an infection. If an infection has been confirmed then immediate initiation of antibiotic therapy is strongly recommended. If not, then other conditions like psoriasis need to be ruled out.

Best wishes.
