What Causes Red Dots Around The Fingernails?

I keep getting red dots around my nails and on my fingers. They become hard and the area around them gets tender and sore, often swelling. The it only takes a small amount of normal activity to agrigate them making the smallest tasks very painful. What is going on?

Hi thanks for posting onHCM. .It may be vasculitis or localised contact dermatitis. you should avoid the allergic component and do ANA FR RULE OUTvasculitis...and consult rheumologist and immunologist..
