Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear doc, I ve had red dots on the head of my penis for about a week now. There is no itching, fluid discharge from them, ans there is no pain or burning sensation. Yet, I still worry about STDs even though I have protected sex. I also participated in giving oral head which does worry me a lot. I m just wondering what I should do or if I should go get checked.
Red dots in the penis can be poor hygiene, irritation, balanitis, dermatitis, genital herpes or syphilis. You are recommended to get physically examined, get STI tests done.
Get evaluated, your treatment will depend upon the severity of the infection detected. Antibiotics & antivirals(Acyclovir) are effective.
In the meantime avoid sex, never go for multiple partners & always opt for protected sex. Oral sex can be contagious if your partner is infected or if you have some skin cuts or abrasions.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
