Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have not had any sex but have had a very red dry penis and the skin is peeling difficult to sit and work keep retracting the foreskin noticed that there are some minor cuts. I am a diabetic and did drink a lot of alcohol on both Christmas as well as boxing day and wine as well as lager last night. On the other hand i have been washing with hot water and soap and did put a clotromozole cream not sure if it is a combination of diabetes as well as alcohol or to do with semen/ smegma and not cleaning after masturbating for a few days?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Your problem is most likely due to fungal infection or irritation. Smegma accumulation can cause fungal infection also. Using soaps and irritants should be avoided as it can increase the irritation. You can use saline or warm water instead of that to wash the area. Putting creams or ointments with combination of antifungal like miconazole, anti bacterial like neomycin and corticosteroid like betamethasone will be helpful also. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
