What Causes Red Eye Along With Swelling And Pain Around The Eye?

2 days ago, i have woke up in the morning and my left eye was red and the 2 days later i had pain and swollen around my eye. since then the swollen pain went down a little but my eye is a little red and it hurt a little. what can this be and how can i treat it

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of red eye along with swelling and pain around the eye. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like infection , trauma , allergic , sinusitis and nonallergic rhinitis, hypertension and use of blood thinning medications. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination and rule out sinusitis and also consult ophthalmologist . Doctor may order CT scan, MRI and do physical examination . Doctor may refer you to neurologist if he/she finds problem to be related with brain injury or problem related to nose . In case of hypertension , doctor may refer you to cardiologist , who may prescribe betablockers or frusamide. Take over the counter antihistamine .
