What Causes Red Face, Abdominal Pain And Headache In A Child?

A few hours ago I noticed my 13 yr old daughter had a very red face- the only parts of her face not affected was an area around the eyes, mouth, and under her nose. Some of the redness has faded, but she complains of feeling hot, abdominal pain, and headache. She does not have a fever. What could be wrong with her?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a viral infection.

I suggest giving her Tylenol for the pain.

I also suggest giving liquids and rest.

I suggest using Calamine lotion for local application in the red area.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
