What Causes Red Itchy Bumps On Left Foot While Using Boots Post Surgery?

Eight weeks ago I broke the fifth metatarsal bone in my left foot. It was a Jones fracture that resulted in surgery. I began walking in an ortho boot Monday. Today I am noticing itchy red bumps on my left foot and ankle after wearing the boot all day. What could those bumps be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear welcome to HealthcareMagic
Regarding your experience with red itchy bumps around your foot and ankle region followed by wearing an ortho boot I am suggesting that you are gradually developing a compression or compartment syndrome due less friction between your skin and the boot

In view of this please see your orthopaedic specialist for further review and possible a little expansion or another free loosed boot

Meanwhile please use the following
Apply bactroban cream
Take antibiotic
Multivitamin
Hematinics

I hope this helps Regards
