What Causes Red Itchy Rashes On Arms And Legs Of A Pregnant Woman?
Hi I m messaging on behalf of a friend she is 7 months pregnant and experiancing a red rash that is itchy and red risen bumps but then it goes it feels hot to touch looks like a heat rash on arms and legs .... She has it come and go do u have any idea what it could be

Understanding your concern. As per your query your red itchy rashes on arms and legs of a pregnant woman , which seems to be due to allergic reaction leading to dermatitis. It could be due to increased skin sensitivity of getting infected. It is normal to have rashes in pregnancy , particularly around your growing belly and breasts as your skin stretches to accommodate them. Hormonal changes may also be partly to blame. I would suggest you to start taking anti allergic medications such as Allegra after consultation with doctor . You should apply a steroid ointment like cortisone over the rash area for relieving inflammation and itching. Application of calamine lotion will be effective to soothe the skin. Apply cold compresses over itchy rashes. If symptoms still keeps on persisting you should visit gynecologist once and get it examined. You should go for patch test and blood tests and start treatment after proper prescription. You should maintain proper cleanliness and avoid scratching the bumps to prevent infection.
