Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have a red/rash type area around both of my ankles; it almost looks as if there has been bleeding under my skin; i don t have any allergies that i know of, but this almost looks like an allergic reaction? it is very red around my ankles; no pain or itching to the area. can you give me any help?
Based on the history you have shared, you should get it reviewed by an orthopedic surgeon or your primary care physician to look for any signs of local arthritis.
Blood coagulation profile as well as blood counts and platelets function may be needed if it seems to be bruise or bleeding collection under the skin.
If it's not so, uric acid levels, as well as RA factor estimation, may be done to look for inflammatory arthritis. Meanwhile, OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be helpful for symptomatic relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
