What Causes Red Marks On Back Of Throat Along With Swollen Cheeks?
I ve got what looks to be red scald marks on the inside of my mouth mainly the right side at the back near to my throat not as severe on the left. The inside of my cheeks are swollen more on the left than the right. I don t have a sorethroat but I do have a sore peace of skin between my left cheek and upper teeth at the back. What could the cause be? I do have Barratt oesophagus and take pantaprozo and I had my gall bladder removed 2014 April.
Your symptoms are indicative of pharyngitis. You are suggested to keep your self well hydrated. Take warm beverage and avoid talking, give voice rest. Gargle your throat with warm salt water 3-4 times a day. Use of humidifier may help you stay comfortable. Do not smoke, stay away from pollutants, fumes, pollen dander, etc., that may trigger allergy.
Take semi solid food like oats meals, custard, etc. Avoid addictions if any. For relieve you can take antihistamines at bed time. Take acetaminophen, one SOS after food to help reduce discomfort and swelling of the cheek. Get clinically examined by an ENT, get routine swab and sputum test done. You may need a course of oral antibiotics like Augmentin.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
