What Causes Red Painful Rashes Around Nostrils?

I have a rash around my nostrils for three months. It It is on the outside and just inside. The part on the outside of my nose is red and looks like my pores are very large. At times it will flake or get white heads. The inside part of the rash looks red and like my nostrils are cracked. At times it is painful and other times just itchy.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain the symptoms of rashes around the nostrils along with itching can be due to a skin condition known as Periorifacial Dermatitis in which there is eruption of rashes around the mouth, nose, eyes etc..
I would suggest you to consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and in case if Periorifacial Dermatitis is diagnosed you can be advised to apply Antibiotic lotions like Erythromycin o er the rashes..
Application of other medications like Retinoids containing Adapelene ointment, mazel acid preparation can help..
Avoid Steroid based lotion or cream..
Avoid all chemical cosmetics.
You can also be advised to take Oral antibiotics like Erythromycin, Metronidazole etc..
