Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I noticed the back of my heel was red about 3 weeks ago, so i went the doctor last Wednesday and he asked me to stop wearing shoes for a while because he thought it looked like a blister. No one else who has seen it thinks it looks like a blister and now its slightly swollen, but it doesn t hurt at all.. Its also about the size of 2 quarters next to each other. What do you think it could be other than a blister?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have red patch at the back of heel. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like achilles tendon bursitis , contact dermatitis , eczema or athlete's foot . I would suggest you to keep your feet clean and dry , do not wear socks for few days , apply over the counter antifungal cream and take anti histamine like benadryl twice a day . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antifungal or anti bacterial depending upon the diagnosis along with corticosteroid ointment and vitamin supplement to boost the immunity .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
