Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I recently observed that my skin has red patches around and close to my pubic area or upper inner thigh area. I have been monitoring the problem myself and it first appeared one month. The red patches does not itch. It s only red and dry or scaly. I would like for the redness to be permanently eliminated. I have performed some research myself and found that it could be Psoriasis. I have always been the type of person who prefers taking pills (capsules-easier to swallow) because I have found that pills are more effective to correct an illness from the inside out of the body. Please give me your professional opinion of what the medical condition is and the best pill treatment to correct the problem.

What Causes Red Patches In The Groin Area?
Hello, It could be a fungal infection. As a first line management, apply topical antifungal creams after cleaning with soap and water. If lesion persists better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
