What Causes Red Rash On Neck After Taking Zicam And Nyquil?
I have a cold and have been taking a number of remedies for the past two days, including First Defense (nasal spray), Zicam Tablets for cold) and day and nyquil. All have been taken at or below recommended levels. This morning I woke up with a slight fine rash and a very red, almost sunburned looking neck. Is there anything to be concerned about? I was just going to take another half dose of dayquil.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
If the rash is itching then it may be an allergic reaction but it may also be associated with your present infection.
A rash can sometimes occur along with viral illnesses such as the cold. It is called a viral exanthem. Normally, the rash resolves along with or soon after the viral illness has resolved.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
