What Causes Red Rashes On Both Sides Along The Rib Cage Extending Towards Arm Pits?

Hello .I have a red, striated-looking rash, in what looks like jagged vertical thin lines on both sides of my body along the rib cage extending up towards the armpits/ back, under the area where the bra straps are .It is dry to the touch and extremely itchy. I have had this for almost a month now and my primary care doc just thought it was fungal and gave my a topical steroid cream to use 2xday for 2 weeks. I also went home and washed all clothes, bedding towels etc. with non-scented, dye-free detergent in hot water every 2 days just to make sure ! - I know it s not from my hygiene as I am extremely clean and conscientious about that and have never had a problem like this rash my entire life and I am 44 years old. Just in cause the undergarments were a problem , I went braless whenever just around the house .Also wore sterile gloves while putting on the lotion and scrubbed the bathroom tiles , kitchen , floors, you name it ! The itching had started to go away and it looked like the rash was fading, but definitely not gone . I stopped using the cream end of the 2 week regimen and it is back ! Today I exfoliated off some dead skin in the area with a natural scrub, used a cotton ball soaked in hydrogen peroxide over the area and used only antibacterial soap and whatever left of the topical steroid cream I had after bathing . The areas are very dry and itchy even though I exfoliated and used the cream. I believe I have a compromised immune system due to a lot of steroid injections in my cervical and thoracic spine ,over the course of a year and a half . The rash keeps spreading now and I am very worried . Does this sound like a fungal infection to you or is this something else ? Please advise. Thanks so much in advance !
