Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have red blotches on trunk of body, no itching, burning, tenderness. Started high doses of vitamin c & e prescribed by ophthalmologist because of the beginning of macular degeneration. Red blotches began within 3-4 weeks after beginning vitamin (Bausch& Lomb AREDS 2).
As per your query, you have symptoms of red rashes on the body which occur due to many reasons like sensitivity to sunlight, contact dermatitis can be caused by coming into contact with chemicals and could be due to medication side effects.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you maintain proper personal hygiene. You should take Zyrtec. Apply cold compresses to reduce the itchiness and inflammation. You should consult a dermatologist for proper examination. The doctor may order skin patch test, blood test, test for allergy and physical examination. The doctor may prescribe corticosteroid ointment along with antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications and immunosuppressants.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
