What Causes Red Rashes On The Face While Suffering From Fever?
my son just got over a fever. however, two days ago i noticed his face had red splotches on it. i put some hydrocortizone cream on his face and it cleared up. he does have the some red splotches on his body ( maybe bumps but they are really small). they do not itch or are not giving him any irritation. his face appears to be a little swollen as well. could this be a side effect of his fever?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of red rashes on face while suffering from fever which seems to be due to viral infection. Rashes are common symptom in that case. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to
- Take proper rest and avoid sun exposure.
- Drink plenty of water and apply cold compresses on skin.
- Take over the counter anti allergic drug like benadryl or zyrtec.
If symptoms doesn't get better in 3-4 days consult general physician for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may prescribe blood test along with physical examination.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
