What Causes Red Ring Around The Groin After Using Intravenous Injections?

hi i just need to know if i should go to the hospital or not i intraveniously injected drugs into the top of my leg near my groin and i now have a huge red ring around it i could hardly walk yesterday and felt pretty weak and sick and all the tissue under the redness is rock hard.

Hi,
thanks for writing in to HCM.

It could be an abscess caused due to using injections. Since intravenous injections are rarely given in the groin, it must have been given intramuscularly rather.
Kindly consult your doctor imediately as the abscess can lead to further infections and tissue necrosis.

Also stay away from drugs as far as possible.
