Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve had redness discoloration on my chest for the last year or more. It s a consistent discoloration that resembles a sunburn while wearing a crew neck t-shirt. It never goes away and gets darker after a hot shower. There s no rash, no itchiness and no other symptoms. Only the reddish color. I m healthy otherwise. I don t take any medication, only vitamins and supplements which I started several months after noticing this redness.
The reddish discoloration over chest may be a normal finding. It is due to dilatation of blood vessels and is found in many people especially fair skinned people. The reason for it to get darker is due to further dilatation of blood vessels with hot water. There is no need to worry especially when you don't have any other complaint.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
