Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have noticed a dime-sized bright red spot on the right cheek of my face level with my nostril getting more and more red and will be calling my dermatologist tomorrow (Monday). I will get the run around as my next six (now seven) month appointment with her is September 3. I last saw her on February 17 for a complete all over skin checkup but forgot to ask her about it then. She did not say a thing on Feb 17, just to make sure I see her again in six months - now seven months, as she is on vacation, with my next appointment September 3. Just trying to chase down what I could find on Google search about this sort of thing.
It may be a acne or boil or streptococcal rash etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use ointment Mupirocin locally twice a day for five days. If no improvement please consult with your physician / dermatologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu, Internal Medicine Specialist
