What Causes Red Spots On An Infant S Vagina?

Well my 14 month old daughter has been very irritable since I picked her up from daycare 2 hours ago. Crying for no apparent reason, throwing herself on the ground - all of which is very unlike her. I went to check her diaper and saw that she has numerous red spots all over the out part of her vagina. Maybe 20+ spots. Very small focused spots. Looks different from any rash she has had in the past. She had the flu about 2 weeks ago and has horrible wet cough - that the doctors last week said was just a cold. Just wondering what is going on. Thought I might get some other opinions.

Hello,

It could be some diaper rash due to prolonged wetting of diaper. Also check for any vaginal discharge, whether the cry is during passing urine which may be seen in urine infection.

However, nothing to worry about, past flu infection have no correlation with it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sachin Kumar Agarwal
