Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Went to iv a shot and tied off missed a vein a little bit so I pulled syringe out to switch hands and the hand I originally tried to shoot into bit missed (only a little amount) now has tiny red dots all over it. Not raised bumps or anything just red dots almost all over. Been there for over an hour. Could it be from tying off too tight? Because when I iv d in the other hand I hit the vein good and had no issues. So the H wasn t completely bad. Any ideas what the red dots are or what could have caused them?
Thank you for the question and welcome to Healthcaremagic!
Its likely the spots are due to bleeding beneath the skin due to misdirected IV. Dont worry as they will be absorbed by your body and will not cause any issue. Hope this helped with your query. Follow back for any future questions. Takecare!
