What Causes Red Spots On The Feet Of A Type 1 Diabetic Patient?
Hi, I m am 40 years old and I have diabetes type 1 using 2 types if insulin (lanctus and humolog). About 2 years ago I got some red spots on top of both of my feet. I work in an office so I figured I was getting the spots due to the lack of exercise. After 2 years I still get the spots specially if my feet get swollen and my skin is starting to look darker than the rest of feet and legs. I told my doctor but he did not say much. I need advice? Thank-you

What Causes Red Spots On The Feet Of A Type 1 Diabetic Patient?
Hello, I read carefully your query and understand your concern. The symptoms seem to be related to a fungal infection in the feet. It is very common infection, especially in diabetic patients. I suggest using a antifungal lotion for local application such as Miconazole cream. I also suggest to maintain a good hygiene and use cotton socks. Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again. Kind regards! Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi General &Family Physician
