Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have recently developed pinhead-sized dark reddish spots on 7 of 10 fingernails, with 1-3 small spots per nail. I have had no recent health issues, other than a mild case of UR flu-type bug about 2 months ago, with long lasting cough. With our early spring pollen, I started an OTC allergy med within last few days, and the coughing has now subsided. I am 74 and in very good health. My husband has read articles about spots on nails being a symptom of serious health issues. Is there any reality to that, or should I dismiss any concern and wait for spots to disappear? Thanks!
