What Causes Red Spots On Tongue After Taking Antibiotics For UTI?
i have had repeated uti's and have been treated with various antibiotics. my tongue is dry and red in spots and i think it is due to the antibiotics. would this be candida yeast? the doctor gave me this solution to swish and swallow but it doesn't seem to help.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain red spots on tongue seems to be due to side effect of antibiotics leading to Transient Lingual Pappilitis and as you are taking repeated dosage of antibiotics the symptoms does not seems to be resolving..
I would suggest you to consult your treating physician and get evaluated and he can do urine culture and sensitivity to rule out the exact cause of recurring infection and treatment can be planned accordingly and appropriate antibiotics will be given to you for complete resolution..
Once the antibiotic intake will be stopped gradually the red spots will disappear. As of now you can gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine to relieve pain.. Take multivitamins.. Drink plenty of water and take a soft diet..
Hope this information helps.
Thanks and regards. Dr.Hi Nandwani Arora.
