What Causes Red Spots With White Heads While On Naproxen And Co-Codamol?

Hi I m currently taking co-codamol and naproxen due to having sciatica, on my fourth day of using these medicines I have come out in a red rash with whiteheads within the redness, is this normal or a allergic reaction, if it is how do I know which medicine is causing it?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of red spots with white heads while on Naproxen and Co-Codamol. It could be due to increased skin sensitivity of getting infected.The symptoms can also occur due to side effects of medicine you are taking so also discuss this with doctor . i would like you to follow certain precautions:

1. Avoid using any oily creams or lotions over face as much as possible. you can however use oil free moisturisers
2. Wash your face frequently inorder to keep it dry
3. Drink plenty of water
4. Try to avoid eating dry fruits
5.Avoid touching or squeezing of white heads
6. Avoid Hair oil , and use scrub one a week

If symptoms still keeps on persisting you should visit dermatologist once and get it examined. You should go for patch test and blood tests and start treatment after proper prescription. You should maintain proper cleanliness .
