Got bite from something. Swelled up saucer size on my calf and red streak started going up from it. Dr. didn t know what kind of bite it is. I put some herbs on it last night and that took the poison out of the and the swelling has gone down but it still aches and there is still swelling. Last night it was a red dot a bit bigger than a tooth pick but this more the spot has sunken into the skin and as is big as a dime.
You have history of some sort of bug bite and presently you are having pain and swelling. Bug bites commonly take 48-72 hours to reduce. For pain you can take analgesics like acetaminophen or Combiflam, one SOS after food. Take antihistamines to reduce discomfort due to allergy. Once daily for 3 (three) days. Protect the wound from getting infected. You can apply ointment Soframycin on the area affected. In case you are getting fever and discomfort is not reducing, you should get examined in the ER, you may need a course of antibiotics( Augmentin) and urgent medical care to prevent further complications.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
