What Causes Reddish Purple Bruise On The Inner Thigh?
Hi, I arrived in Florida about a week ago. A few days after arriving I noticed a reddish -purple mark on my inside thigh about 2 by 4 shaped like a heart. I don t remember being bruised or bitten, and it hasn t change color or shape since I ve noticed it. No itching . Any thoughts?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of reddish purple bruise on the inner thigh which seems to be due to bacterial infection of the skin and soft tissue due to compromised immunity of your body and increased susceptibility of getting infected. Need not to worry. You should avoid touching or pricking rashes. I would suggest you to start with oral antibiotic course of Amoxycillin 500 mg in combination with clavulanic acid 125 mg for around 1 week. You should take oral painkiller as well. Visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Apply topical antibacterial ointment neosporin or gentamicin on these rashes twice daily.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
