Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Redness Along With Itchiness On The Face?
I am a 58 year old male who in the last three weeks my face will turn red and itch horribly. No hives, bumps or anything in the like. Ruled out any new foods, vitamins and creams. Cant seem to figure out what it is, other than an allergy, but from what?
Well, your explanation looks like allergic dermatitis only and can be due to a number of causes like any food or medication, skin cosmetics, soaps, detergents, toothpaste etc.
To rule out the cause you can consult an Emergency and get evaluated.
A clinical examination and allergy test can be done for confirmation of the diagnosis.
For now, take anti allergic medicine like Levocetirizine, apply calamine lotion. Do cool compresses over the face.
Hope I have answered your query. Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora,
Dentist
