What Causes Redness Along With Swelling At The Back Of Neck?
hi...the back of my neck is swollen and slightly raised. It is red and warm to the touch. The swollen area is about an inch wide and runs about the length from ear to ear. Otherwise I don't have any other symptoms I can think of. I'm 40 years old female and live in ontario canada.
As per your query you have redness along with swelling at the back of neck . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like allergic reaction , side effect of certain medicine , result of sensitivity to sunlight , eczema , bug bites and psoriasis . I would suggest you to apply cold compresses to the affected area and take bendryl twice a day . If condition doesn't get well the consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor will take history or order test like skin patch test and allergy test . Doctor may prescribe anti bacterial or anti fungal medicine along with anti inflammatory and corticosteroid ointment .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
