I was diagnosed with Trichomoniasis about 3 and a half weeks ago. When I was diagnosed the Dr told me that she was about 90% sure that I had it. I was treated for the Trichomoniasis and also tested for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. Both came out negative. After a week of treatment I was still experiencing redness and irritation around both the vagina and anus. I also noticed that there was skin peeling on the lips of my vagina. I returned to the Dr for a follow up and she said it was just a case of pad rash. She checked my discharge and everything seemed to be normal. She told me to use diaper cream and sent me on my way. I continued using the cream for a few days but there was no improvement. About 3 days later while examining the irritation I noticed that there where two small skin colored bumps around my rectum. I made another trip to the Dr and she declared them as skin tags. Once again everything checked out ok with the exam. During the next week I began experiencing some new symptoms. Not only was the skin around my vagina and anus still irritated but I now had diarrhea, the constant feeling of a bowel movement, when I did defecate I would find that even after wiping there was still stool present in the rectum, and by the end of the week I was constipated. I also experienced some pain in the groin area and lower back. Not wanting to make yet another trip to the Dr I decided to do some research. I found that a lot of my symptoms were consistent with Genital and anal herpes. I did have both unprotected vaginal and anal sex. Could this be possible without the presents of sores/ blisters? Could the Dr have mistaken my early symptoms of herpes as Trichomoniasis?
