Hello,
You had been doing spray painting, you forgot to put on your protection googles. Presently you have
redness, discomfort and itchiness in your eyes. The severity of the symptoms and the time it may take to recover depends on the type of chemical and the amount that has gotten into the eye.
Flushing the eye with water and continue the flushing until you feel better. Continue to rinse for more than 24 hours. Use a strong steady stream of clean water. Chemical
injury to the eye is serious and can threaten your vision. Seek immediate emergency medical care.
You can use I-tone eye drops on the affected eye to get relieve. Get clinically examined by an Eye specialist. You may require antibiotic eye drops, and a
topical steroid to reduce inflammation and discomfort. Such symptoms occur commonly due to
allergy to the paint. It occurs also due to chemicals that come in contact with the eye. Caustic (alkaline) chemicals cause the worst damage. Always wear protective googles to protect your eyes and keep the doors and windows open. Flush your eyes between work to make sure your eyes are clean and unaffected.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
