What Causes Redness And Rashes On Neck After Exposure To The Sunlight?

While driving down from Yosemite park I had skin around the neck exposed to bright sunlight which caused the areas to develop redishness. I have taken citrizine one tab for two days but small abrasions like particles persist on one side. I thought it was just allergy . But that sand paper like patch is still there after two tabs. I don t know how to describe the condition.
